Insan Association is a Lebanese non-profit, civil society organization, established in the year 2000 by a group of human rights activists. It is situated in one of Beirut’s northern suburbs and serves the most underprivileged population of Beirut’s Northern and Southern suburbs, most notably the families living in the regions of Nabaa, Bourj Hamoud, Dekwaneh, Sin El Fil, Dahyeh…

After several years of experience in social work, Insan Association concluded that the most needy population in Beirut’s suburbs are the refugee and migrant families, who are completely deprived of their most basic rights. Refugees and migrants coming mostly from Sudan, Iraq, India, Egypt, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ghana… are living in very poor and difficult conditions in Lebanon and their children are deprived of their basic right of Education.

In the year 2004, Insan Association started two pilot projects, “Insan School” and “Insan House”, while continued its work on the “Insan Club” project.

During the academic year 2006-2007, Insan also started a new project called “The Insan Integration Project” through which children of Insan would be integrated into regular schools in Lebanon and into their local communities.
