About Us

Who we are

Established in 1998 by a group of Human Rights activists, Insan Association is a Lebanese non-profit organisation officially registered at the Ministry of Justice under the number 390/cs Beirut and at the Minister of Interior under the number 13907.

Insan Association acts to protect and promote the rights of the most marginalised individuals, families and children living in Lebanon – such as refugees, migrant workers, asylum seekers, non-identities, host-community nationals – without discrimination of any kind, such as ethnicity nationality, gender, social origins, religion and political or other affiliations.

Migrants & Refugees

In 2017, Insan established the Cross Regional Center for Refugees and Migrants (CCRM) that brings together local and national organizations across the MENA, Gulf and Euro-Mediterranean regions. Through meetings, conferences, workshops and publication of information materials CCRM aims to improve the human rights situation of migrants and refugees in the region.

Insan's Network Memberships

Insan is a member of the following networks: Cross-Regional Center for Refugees and Migrants, NEAR – Network for Empowered Aid Response, Lebanon Humanitarian and Development NGO Forum, Migrant Forum in Asia, International Detention Coalition, the Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism, the Civil Society Action Committee, the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants and ICVA.

Insan actively participates in the following UN sector coordination meetings: Education, Protection, Child Protection, Health, Migration, Basic Assistance, SGBV, PSEA, Inter-Agency.
